Sound Clips

We came across these sets after much rehearsing, experimentation, and inspiration from "Irish Fest Week" and recorded them on August 26th, 2005.

*Rock Cashel Polka Set

**Dance of the Honeybees Set

Below are two very beautiful tunes that we recorded on October 7th, 2005.  We wanted to literally 'change the pace' a bit and give you guys a sense of some slower, prettier Irish tunes.

Dawning of the Day

Rest Reel

*That first set above starts with a more traditional feel of a whistle solo with a nice touch of flute the second time through on the first polka (Rock Cashel), then Heather comes in with a punch on the fiddle getting us through the next two polkas (Britches Full of Stitches/Mimi and the Next Generation).  We then came up with a sweet transition (inspired by Comas) giving Amy just enough time to switch from whistle to bodhran and go from the polkas to a jig that our Jeffrey wrote (Controlled Chaos)The set finishes off with one of Amy's favorite slip jigs (Farewell to Whalley Range), written by Michael McGoldrick.

**The second set starts off nice and slow with a lovely barndance (Dance of the Honeybees), then fading out into a short drumbreak that kicks it into gear, setting you up for three fastpaced reels (Drowsy Maggie/Mountain Road/Tam LInn).  Be sure and listen for the sweet break that happens when we transition from Drowsy Maggie into Mountain Road ... a transition that was once again an inspiration to us from Irish Trad band Comas.
